Position Summary
The Club Trainer – Technical Development is responsible for delivering high-quality Ball Mastery and Technical Skills sessions for Franklin County Sports Club athletes. This role focuses on helping players develop superior technical ability — including ball control, manipulation, passing, receiving, dribbling, 1v1 and 2v1 play — through engaging, age-appropriate training sessions.
The trainer will follow the FCSC Club Model and Player Development Curriculum, ensuring that training aligns with the club’s mission to foster skillful, confident, and creative players. This is an excellent entry-level coaching opportunity for individuals pursuing a long-term pathway in coaching, with potential advancement into assistant or head coach positions.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver age-appropriate Ball Mastery and Technical Development training sessions in alignment with FCSC’s curriculum.
- Prepare and organize training sessions emphasizing repetition, creativity, and individual ball comfort.
- Provide clear instruction and positive feedback to all players.
- Reinforce FCSC’s Core Values: Community, Integrity, Excellence, and Respect.
- Track attendance and report any issues related to player conduct or participation.
- Support other coaches and the Executive Director with curriculum alignment and player progress monitoring.
- Be punctual, professional, and prepared for all training sessions.
- Participate in ongoing education and development opportunities as recommended by FCSC (e.g., USSF Grassroots or D License courses).
Qualifications
- Minimum USSF Grassroots License (or willingness to obtain).
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical soccer fundamentals.
- Passion for youth player development and growth mindset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work evenings and weekends.
- (Preferred) Playing or coaching experience at the youth, high school, or collegiate level.

Notes
- Training Schedule: 1–2 evenings per week, 60–90 minutes per session.
- Performance Evaluation: Annual or seasonal feedback from the Executive Director.
- Safety & Compliance: Must pass background screening and complete SafeSport training.
