Job Overview

Here at the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center our goal is to alleviate food insecurities through our Meals-on Wheels program and congregate services. We serve a meal that is our daily recommended value on nutrition to older americans in hopes of allowing them to live a better healthier longer life. We work Monday through Friday. Off major holidays. Our working hours vary from 6 am to 2 pm, the center is open from 8am to 2pm. Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing
• Support food running duties by delivering dishes promptly from the kitchen to dining areas while ensuring presentation quality
• Help with bussing tables and clearing plates to maintain a tidy dining environment
• Handle manual lifting of supplies, ingredients, and equipment following safe lifting practices to prevent injury
• Support in food handling activities by adhering to food safety protocols and proper storage procedures
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods and assist with basic cooking tasks as needed

Requirements

• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
• Ability to perform manual tasks including moderate lifting and safe lifting practices
• Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and in-person customer service
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and general culinary practices
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and show up to work everyday.

Pay: From $11.00 per hour
