Job Summary And Qualifications
The Security/Disaster Preparedness Coordinator provides guidance and daily supervision of Security staff as necessary for the provision of a safe and secure environment of care for patients, staff, and visitors of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. The Security/Disaster Preparedness Coordinator must be capable of actions and decisions that support the efficient provision of a safe and orderly facility while following the law and maintaining patient confidentiality. The role of the Security Coordinator is to be performed under the direction of the Engineering Director, COO, or CEO. The Security/Disaster Preparedness Coordinator at Frankfort Regional Medical Center serves in the role of general administration in planning, coordinating, maintaining, and updating the Hospital Emergency Operations Plan, including both internal and external event responses. The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating compliance with the Emergency Management chapter of the Joint Commission Accreditation Standards. The Coordinator provides support for all emergency management projects as needed, and reports to the Environment of Care committee.

What you will do in this role:
- Promote satisfaction of internal and external customers.
- Address patient/family concerns/satisfaction issues, informing department leadership of concerns.
- Promote Service Excellence, employee, patient and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a resource person for all staff.
- Accept departmental accountability for current and new policies, clinical programs, and systems necessary to support changing patient care needs.
- Change agent for hospital/department initiatives.
- Assist the Director to operate within approved budget.
- Evaluate own performance based on professional practice standard, relevant studies and regulations, and organizational criteria identifying areas of strength, as well as areas for professional/practice development.
- Responsible for all communication from leadership, via e-mail, face-to-face, and posted bulletins.
- Coordinate the Disaster Preparedness functions to meet the regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the Disaster Preparedness Committee meetings.
- Coordinate and assist in reviewing and updating all plans related to the Disaster Preparedness Functions.
- Direct ongoing organization wide collection of information about deficiencies and opportunities for improvement in the Disaster Preparedness Plans and Policies.
- Work in conjunction with Administration, Director of Engineering/Security, and Infection Control to assure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws related to the Disaster Preparedness Plans and Policies.
- Report on findings, recommendations, actions taken and results of measurement.
- Organize and coordinate all facility-wide security and disaster preparedness drills and events as required by local, state, federal, and various accrediting bodies.
- Oversee and coordinate facility security personnel; including, but not limited to, training, scheduling, and oversight.
- Completion of accredited school of Law Enforcement and/or Emergency Management training required.
- Emergency Medical Technician, Law Enforcement, or Disaster Management preferred.
- At least 5 years of Active Law enforcement experience or Certified Disaster Response Training or 2 years EMT experience required.
