Job Description:
Frankenberger Associates, LLC, Learning Solutions Center is seeking an executive function coach/learning specialist who can provide executive functioning and academic interventions to children, teens, and young adults with learning challenges/disabilities.
Qualifications:
For this consultant position, a master’s degree in the field of education or a closely related field is required. The applicant must have experience in and knowledge about educational programs and interventions in the areas of executive functioning, reading comprehension and written expression, keen organizational and communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. Job Responsibilities:
Understand the learner in front of you – cognitively, academically, socially and emotionally
- Create comprehensive plans that identify the client’s cognitive, academic, executive functioning, and social-emotional strengths and weaknesses
- Help clients develop time management and organizational skills using external organizers to manage school and work assignments
- Must know a variety of programs and tools to teach written language, reading comprehension, and organizational skills
- Teach reading strategies for improved comprehension
- Teach the writing process for improved written expression
- Teach technology aids to facilitate learning for academic subjects
- Help students develop healthy lifestyles – sleep, diet, exercise, positive mindset
- Understand and be familiar with educational platforms/student portals
- Collaborate with important individuals in client’s life (parents, therapist, teacher)
- Coach to develop goal-setting and self-advocacy and life skills
- Assist parents in understanding their child's cognitive and academic profiles
- Attend FA’s executive function monthly meeting for professional development
