Summary: The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of greenhouse products to retail stores, distributors, across the United States and Canada. This role plays a vital part in representing the company on the road, ensuring that all deliveries uphold the company’s standards for quality, safety, and customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport greenhouse products, plants, and related materials to destinations across the U.S. and Canada.

· Load and unload products carefully to maintain quality and prevent damage during transit.

· Conduct pre-trip, in route, and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT and company safety standards.

· Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipping documentation, and border crossing paperwork.

· Communicate effectively with dispatchers, logistics staff, and customers to ensure efficient route planning and on-time deliveries.

· Follow all federal, state, provincial, and local traffic regulations and safety procedures.

· Assist in warehouse or greenhouse operations when not driving, as needed (e.g., loading assistance, product organization).

· Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining a clean vehicle and courteous demeanor.

· Other duties assigned.

Education and Experience:

· Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.

· Minimum 2 years of over-the-road (OTR) or regional delivery experience preferred.

· Ability to cross the U.S.–Canada border (passport or enhanced driver’s license required).

· Experience handling perishable, live, or delicate products (horticultural or agricultural experience a plus).

· Must meet all DOT and FMCSA medical and safety requirements.

· Minimum age of 21 years, as required for interstate commercial driving.

· Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Licenses/Certifications:

· Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).

Skills / Competencies:

· Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Forklift experience is a plus.

Physical and Work environment: The work environment is in a truck with occasional interaction in a greenhouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is generally load. Collaborative warehouse setting with regular interaction across departments. Must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with product loading/unloading.

· Comfortable working in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

· Ability to stand, bend, and move product for extended periods.

Work Schedule:

Typical workweek: 50–70 hours (depending on route length and season).

Drive time: Up to 11 hours per day within DOT regulations.

Home time: Usually weekends or every 5–7 days, depending on distance and delivery volume.

Seasonal variation: Heavier spring workload (March–June); lighter summer/fall schedules.
