Overview
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Parts Representative to join our team at a leading heavy equipment dealership. This role is essential in delivering excellent customer service, ensuring parts availability, and supporting equipment uptime for our forestry and construction clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of heavy equipment components, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to inventory and sales management.
Duties
- Assist customers—in person, by phone, and online—with identifying and sourcing the correct parts for heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, forestry machines, and more.
- Maintain accurate inventory records to ensure high availability of essential components and reduce downtime for customers.
- Process parts orders efficiently through our business systems, including data entry, invoicing, and coordination with logistics.
- Advise customers on parts compatibility, installation best practices, and maintenance tips to improve machine performance and longevity.
- Coordinate with the service department to fulfill internal parts requests and support repair operations.
- Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to source hard-to-find or special-order items quickly and efficiently.
- Support counter sales and provide quotations and pricing, including volume discounts and promotional offerings.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to receive, move, and organize parts inventory safely and efficiently.
Skills
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build lasting relationships with equipment owners, operators, and technicians.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment parts and mechanical systems is strongly preferred; automotive parts experience will also be considered.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and order processing systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with service operations and understanding of basic equipment diagnostics is a plus.
- Forklift certification or experience is required (if not applicable, we will certify you.)
