Summary
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House is a non-profit organization with a primary mission to preserve, interpret, and promote the Martin House, a National Historic Landmark and a premier New York State Historic Site.
The Martin House seeks a seasonal part-time Martin House Associate to join our dynamic, visitor-facing team. This position will be responsible for providing an exceptional visitor experience to Martin House visitors across our 1.5-acre campus, primarily at our Greatbatch Pavilion reception desk during Self-Guided Tour hours. This position will also work shifts at our Museum Store, rental events, and special exhibitions. The Martin House Associate is expected to welcome guests, complete sales transactions, and contribute to an optimal guest experience.
Saturday/Sunday availability required, and some weekday and evening hours. 10-15 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome visitors in a friendly and positive manner; provide guests with information about the site, tour offers, visitor center exhibits and more.
- Facilitate tour or store transactions utilizing online systems, including accurate entering of sales and cash/credit card transactions.
- Answer phones providing customer information and sales assistance.
- Responsible for opening and closing the Greatbatch Pavilion, and for the functioning of introductory film and AV displays.
- Welcome volunteers: keys and instructions, as needed, to ensure volunteers are aware of group tours or other daily activities.
- Maintain an organized/professional reception area throughout the day.
- Monitor all areas of the visitor center during the day; ensure restrooms are maintained.
- May work alone or with other guest services staff or volunteers based on tour volume.
- Assist with Martin House internal/external events, on as needed basis.
Qualifications:
- Strong basic computer skills.
- Minimum of 1 year of retail experience, or equivalent.
- Ability to routinely go up/downstairs and repetitively bend to lift more than 20 lbs.
- Ability to engage guests on sales floor and communicate key messaging of the Martin House.
Compensation: Starts at $16/hour but may be adjusted based on experience.
