Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- One (1)Year slitter experience preferred
- Three to six (3-6) months of on-the-job training required
Qualifications
- Dependability to be consistently at work and on time
- Reading and math skills, including knowledge of fractions and decimal computations
- Verbal/written comprehension skills
- Measuring skills using tape measure, micrometers, and/or calipers
- Operational knowledge of slitter machines and how to troubleshoot simple problems.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines
- A “Team” mentality
- Repetitive standing and/or bending capability during normal phase duties
- Heavy (25-75 lbs.) lifting capability during normal phase duties
Responsibilities
- Perform a safety evaluation of the assigned workstation and surrounding area
- Verify that steel coil, machine setup, and job order match prior to machine operation.
- Operate slitter machine using the push-button control panel.
- Manage production activity of slitter crew.
- Perform visual quality inspection of steel coil during the load and run process and the finished product.
- Record production information onto required forms.
- Perform workstation and surrounding area housekeeping tasks as required.
