Job Description: Experienced Underground Miner / Laborer
JENNMAR Services – West Elk Mine (WEM)
Location: Somerset, Colorado
Pay: $28.00–$38.00 per hour, DOE
Job Summary
JENNMAR Services is currently seeking experienced Underground Miner / Laborers to join our team at West Elk Mine in Somerset, Colorado. Qualified candidates must have previous underground mining experience and a strong understanding of underground mine safety and operations.
This position supports daily underground mining activities, assists mining crews, handles materials and equipment, and maintains a safe and productive work environment. We are looking for dependable, safety-conscious individuals who can work effectively as part of a team and contribute their underground mining experience to daily operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties in an underground coal mine.
- Assist underground mining crews with daily operations and assigned tasks.
- Move materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow all mine safety procedures, company policies, and MSHA regulations.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, and equipment concerns.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and other duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
Qualifications
- Previous underground mining experience required.
- Experience working in an underground coal mine preferred.
- Current MSHA training or the ability to complete required training.
- Strong knowledge of underground mine safety practices.
- Dependable, hardworking, and able to work well with a crew.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an underground mining environment.
- Must meet all site access, pre-employment screening, and mine safety requirements.
- Work Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Schedule and shifts based on mine operational needs.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed.
