Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly with a friendly attitude and guide them to their tables efficiently.
- Manage restaurant reservations using table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring accurate seating arrangements.
- Maintain an organized waiting list and communicate estimated wait times clearly via phone and in person.
- Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing information about wait times, reservations, or general inquiries.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize seating flow and ensure timely service.
- Handle guest concerns with professionalism, aiming to resolve issues quickly and enhance overall guest satisfaction.
- Keep the host/hostess station clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies to support smooth operations.
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in food service roles with strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction with guests and team members.
- Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, waiting lists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
- Basic math skills for handling guest counts, wait times, and billing procedures when needed.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest well-being.
- Ability to remain energetic, positive, and attentive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
