Staff Accountant

Job Duties

• Daily reconciliations of correspondent accounts plus regular reconciliations of other accounts.
• Software administrator for the accounts payable and employee expense reimbursement software.
• Backup for the Accounts Payable Processor position.
• Gather vendor W-9's, verify vendor information, and file annual vendor 1099s.
• Various other items including general ledger entries, sales and use tax, recurring lease payments, and certain administrative tasks.

Educations, Skills, and Experience

• Degree in accounting and/or finance preferred.
• Experience in an accounting role in the banking industry above and beyond seven years may substitute for accounting degree.
• Previous experience in the banking industry, including systems, accounting, and accounts payable.
• Knowledge of correspondent bank accounts preferred.

Skills

• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, technical procedures, and federal and state financial and banking regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, vendors, and the general public.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, proportion, percentages. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems in situations with many variables and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in various forms.
• Software Skills: An advanced understanding of Microsoft 365/Office products, especially Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams. Ability to perform/create complex equations, linked spreadsheets, and custom reporting using Excel. Ability to quickly learn newly implemented software.
• Additional Skills: Ability to work under pressure with deadlines, results orientated and focused, self-motivated and disciplined and highly professional with strong interpersonal skills.

Salary range for this role is $57,181 to $85,739 per hour/annually, depending on experience.
