About Francison Consulting, Inc.

Francison Consulting, Inc. is a growing Project Management and Construction Management firm with approximately 40 employees, providing professional services to public and private sector clients.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our day to day accounting activities, client invoicing, accounts receivable, project financials, budgeting, and financial reporting.

We are especially interested in candidates with accounting experience within a PMCM, architecture, engineering, construction, or other project based professional services firm.

Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will work closely with the CEO and take ownership of the company's day to day accounting and financial activities while providing guidance and oversight to accounting support staff.

A major focus of this position will be ensuring client invoices are accurate and submitted on time, outstanding receivables are actively managed and collected, project budgets remain in good standing, and leadership has clear visibility into the financial health of the company.

The ideal candidate understands project based accounting and is comfortable working with client billing, labor costs, billing rates, project budgets, contract values, cash flow, and profitability.

This is a hands on position. We are looking for someone who can manage the accounting function while also being comfortable working directly in the details when needed.

As part of a growing organization, this individual should also be willing to assist leadership and the broader team with administrative, operational, and company initiatives outside of traditional accounting responsibilities as business needs arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the client invoicing process from preparation through payment.
  • Prepare and review invoices for accuracy, supporting documentation, and timely submission.
  • Maintain invoicing schedules and ensure billing deadlines are consistently met.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and outstanding client balances.
  • Review aging reports and proactively follow up with clients regarding outstanding payments.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Monitor contract values, billing limits, amendments, and remaining funding.
  • Ensure eligible billable labor and expenses are properly captured and invoiced.

Project Accounting & Financial Management

  • Monitor the financial performance of active projects.
  • Track project revenue, labor costs, expenses, billing rates, budgets, and profitability.
  • Monitor project budgets and identify potential financial concerns before they become larger issues.
  • Review project charges and supporting documentation for accuracy.
  • Track actual project performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor project margins and provide leadership with visibility into project profitability.
  • Work with project leadership to resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for projects, contracts, invoices, and payments.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Assist with month end and year end accounting activities.
  • Review financial reports and identify discrepancies, trends, and areas requiring attention.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, CPAs, and financial advisors as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting procedures and internal controls.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Assist with annual company budgeting and financial planning.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budget.
  • Prepare revenue, expense, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Monitor anticipated client payments and overall company cash flow.
  • Provide leadership with regular visibility into company financial performance.
  • Identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities.
  • Assist with financial reports and dashboards for management.

Team Oversight & Company Support

  • Provide day to day oversight, guidance, and support to accounting and administrative staff as assigned.
  • Review work for accuracy and help ensure accounting deadlines and priorities are met.
  • Help establish clear accounting processes, procedures, and responsibilities.
  • Assist leadership with administrative and operational initiatives as needed.
  • Support company reporting, documentation, and special projects outside of accounting when necessary.
  • Help improve internal procedures and systems as the company continues to grow.
  • Coordinate with internal team members and external vendors as needed.
  • Be comfortable stepping outside of traditional accounting responsibilities when necessary to support the overall needs of the company.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • Experience with client invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with project based accounting or project financial management.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify accounting or financial discrepancies and independently work toward resolution.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, leadership, and internal teams.
  • Willingness to assist with responsibilities outside of accounting as business needs arise.

Preferred Qualifications
