What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Technician Training Program- Lafayette position at Franciscan Health?
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
This course will train you to be eligible to work as a Patient Care Technician within the Franciscan Health Network. You will learn to perform all duties and tasks that are expected of the Patient Care Technician position.
Responsibilities:
Bathing
Feeding
Oral care
Emptying drains
Repositioning
Ambulating
Documentation
Schedule:
The course is 6 weeks long.
There is a combination of in-class lectures at our education center and hands on training before starting clinical rotations in the hospital.
You are expected to be there every day, all day.
The first two weeks of training is classroom based.
Clinical rotations start on the third week and the schedule could change depending on your clinical schedule.
No one is allowed to be over 40 hours a week during the program.
Supplies:
The book, study materials, and any required equipment are provided to you.
Scrubs do have to be purchased through the hospital.
The assigned scrub color is royal blue.
You can wear professional clothing or scrubs until yours arrive.
In class information:
Lecture is every day, followed by a quiz the next day.
To successfully complete the program, you must pass the quizzes, midterm exam, final exam, and the final simulation with a score of 80% or more.
You will be given a study guide for the final simulation and final exam.
