WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Work with state agencies regarding ambulance service certification.
- Interface with Nursing Operations, Case Management, and Unit leaders requesting patient transportation.
- Work with the ED to arrange for staff to assist in the ED between transport calls.
- Work with appropriate dispatching entity (i.e. patient logistics / Transfer Center).
- Ensure appropriate stocking of vehicles, maintenance on vehicles and safety of vehicles.
- Plan for future business strategies including NICU and critical care transports.
- Communicate regularly with local ambulance vendors to coordinate back-up transport support.
- Track quality indicators including timeliness, statistics regarding runs, and other key processes.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
- Ensure all state and accreditation paperwork is completed and submitted before due.
- Negotiate and approve contracts at the department level and oversee the approval through administration.
- Teach and assist teaching in both the EMT and paramedic programs.
