Parker seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate After School FTC Robotics Mentor to guide and inspire Middle School students (Grades 6–8) in our FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics program.
The Middle School, which includes grades 6–8 and enrolls over 340 students, is a lively and dynamic environment that emphasizes learning through hands-on experiences—an ideal setting for robotics. True to the vision of the School’s namesake, Colonel Francis W. Parker, the Middle School fosters curiosity, creativity, and collaboration through experiential learning.
The FTC Robotics Mentor will work with students after school to design, build, and program robots for competition, while cultivating teamwork, problem-solving skills, and perseverance. The mentor will model Parker’s core values: Students First, Academic Excellence, Global Perspective, Strength of Character, Inclusive Community, and No Limit to Better.
This is a part-time, after-school position that runs during the robotics season, typically from September to February, with the potential for extended involvement during the competition season.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
This is a seasonal/part-time position paying $17.75/hr. This position is not eligible for benefits.

- Encouraging collaboration, innovation, and critical thinking within the team.
- Guiding students through the engineering design process and documentation.
- Supporting preparation for FTC competitions, including local qualifiers and potential advancement events.
- Collaborating with faculty advisors and parent volunteers to ensure smooth program logistics and a positive team culture.
- Experience mentoring or coaching youth robotics teams (FIRST Tech Challenge preferred).
- Knowledge of robotics design, mechanical systems, and/or programming (Java experience is a plus).
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- A passion for inspiring middle school students to explore STEM and teamwork.
