About Francis Law Center
Francis Law Center is a U.S. immigration law firm founded by Dr. Jae Francis, serving clients in all 50 states from offices in Downtown Chicago, Schaumburg (IL), and Madison (WI). We focus on family-based immigration, humanitarian visas, and removal defense. Most of our clients are Spanish-speaking, and they trust us with the most important thing in their lives — keeping their families together.
About the Role
We are hiring an Immigration Paralegal to join our team in a hybrid role based in Chicago or Schaumburg, IL. You will prepare and manage immigration case filings from intake through approval, working directly with clients and attorneys on family-based petitions, waivers, and humanitarian cases.
This is a hands-on role for someone who drives cases forward independently — tracking deadlines, catching missing documents, and making clients feel heard.
What You Will Do
- Prepare and file family-based petitions (I-130, I-485, I-751, I-864)
- - Draft and assemble waiver applications (I-601, I-601A) with supporting evidence
- - Support humanitarian cases including VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, and asylum filings
- - Communicate with clients in English and Spanish to gather documents, explain processes, and provide case updates
- - Monitor case status, track deadlines, and respond to RFEs promptly
- - Organize case files and maintain accurate records
- - Coordinate with USCIS, NVC, and consulates as needed
- - Assist attorneys with case strategy, legal research, and hearing preparation
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- 2 years of immigration paralegal experience
- - Hands-on experience preparing family-based petitions, waivers, and/or humanitarian visa cases
- - Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases independently
- - Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strongly Preferred:
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- - Experience handling RFEs and working with USCIS, NVC, or consulates
- - Familiarity with immigration case management systems
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
- - Full-time, hybrid position (Chicago or Schaumburg, IL)
- - Benefits package included
How to Apply
Send your resume and a short cover letter to info@francislawcenter.com. We are asking one question in the cover letter — it is how we know you pay attention to detail:
"Describe a time you caught an error or missing document on a case file before it was submitted. What did you do?" (3-5 sentences)
We only hire A-team players. That does not mean you are perfect — it means you care enough to own your mistakes, fix them, and keep moving. If our mission matters to you and you want to grow, we want to hear from you.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
