Job Overview
The Service Coordinator plays a key role in guiding families through the entire admission process. This position involves, but is not limited to, managing intake applications, transfers, referrals, scheduling assessments, and coordinating communication to ensure a smooth and positive experience for every family.
Responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
- Coordinate the admissions process for referrals, transfers, and new applications (review applications, communicate with parents, verify insurance, request documentation from physicians, etc.)
- Enter clients in deTASO
- Collaborate with other qualified staff to evaluate potential students
- Request prescriptions and PAs for therapy treatment
- Collect quarterly data updates from therapists and special ed. teachers to send to parents
- Schedule initial conferences and annual evaluations
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement recruiting strategies to increase student enrollment
- Attend IEP/ITP conferences
- Maintain records for each child enrolled as required by state regulations
- Assist the Business Manager in resolving billing errors
- Assist in other capacities as assigned by the Executive Director
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (required)/some college hours (preferred)
- 2 years of relevant experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of due process procedures
- Knowledge of Medicaid billing codes (preferred)
- Knowledge of DHS/DDS regulations (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications or similar software
- Must have good written, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience working in deTASO (preferred)
- Must pass a drug screen and background checks
