Job Summary
The Senior Events Manager will oversee the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of events ranging from corporate meetings and banquets to weddings and social gatherings. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitability while leading a team of event professionals in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of events, ensuring seamless coordination across catering, banquet, and operations teams.
- Design customized event proposals and floor plans that align with client vision and budgetary requirements.
- Collaborate with sales, culinary, and banquet departments to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Negotiate contracts and vendor agreements to secure favorable terms while maintaining profitability.
- Manage event budgets, forecasting revenue and controlling costs to meet departmental financial goals.
- Supervise and mentor junior event coordinators and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Analyze post-event feedback and performance metrics to continuously improve service standards and client satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process, ensuring clear communication and expectation management.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in event management, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale events, banquets, or conferences.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or similar industry certification.
- Experience working within a multi-outlet hotel or resort property.
- Familiarity with The Westin's local event and hospitality market.
