What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Sales position at Franchise Location?
Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Doral Hotel Enterprises. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies for both properties to achieve revenue, occupancy, and market share goals
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, including setting individual and team production goals
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate accounts, travel agencies, group planners, and local business partners
- Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and demand generators using industry reporting tools to inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate with above-property revenue management on pricing, forecasting, and inventory strategy
- Oversee group sales, catering, and event bookings from inquiry through execution
- Represent both properties at industry events, trade shows, and community and networking functions
- Prepare and present sales performance reports, forecasts, and strategic plans to ownership and above-property leadership
- Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards for Aloft and Element
- Manage sales department budget and expenses
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing or Senior Sales Manager in the hotel/hospitality industry
- Prior experience with Marriott-branded properties strongly preferred; multi-property or dual-branded experience a plus
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and sales production goals
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
- Working knowledge of and hands-on experience with the following systems:
