Project Engineer - Hospital Construction
Fayetteville, AR | $65,000 - $80,000 DOE
This opportunity is with a veteran-founded contractor specializing in healthcare and government construction projects. The company focuses heavily on work that supports hospital and healthcare facility clients, requiring strong coordination, professionalism, and attention to detail when working within active healthcare environments.
The Project Engineer will support a two year hospital construction project on site in Fayetteville, AR, working within an active, operating hospital campus alongside an experienced Project Team, with real room to grow as the company continues to expand.
What You'll Do
- Support the Project Team in obtaining, evaluating, coordinating, and distributing the information and authorizations necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the quality specified
- Ensure Contract Document Logs are established and maintained
- Ensure status reports on RFIs, Submittals, and other documents are prepared and presented
- Write and verify effective scopes of work for bid packages
- Issue Requests for Quotations and follow up with trade contractors
- Update project schedules using CPM techniques
- Document field quality activities in a timely manner
- Prepare change order reports, estimates, and other cost report documents
- Establish and maintain project quality files and documentation systems
- Support organizational change initiatives and adapt to new structures and processes
- Develop a working knowledge of contracts, general conditions, and flow down language
- Support construction activity within an active, occupied hospital, maintaining infection control and interim life safety measures
- Build industry relationships and expand professional networks that generate future opportunities for the company
What You Bring
- BS or MS in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 1 to 2 years of Construction Project Management experience with a CM or GC, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven record of meeting organizational and personal goals while delivering results
- Ability to recognize different interpersonal styles and adjust approach to accommodate tasks, situations, and individuals
- Ability to convey a persuasive case backed by substantial evidence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- OSHA 10 Hour certification
- Basic MEP knowledge
- Understanding of contract documents and specifications
- Familiarity with Procore, Microsoft Office, and Primavera P6 preferred
