Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor for the second shift (1:30 PM - 10:00 PM; M-F) to oversee manufacturing operations within our dynamic facility. This leadership role is essential in ensuring production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, excellent team management skills, and a thorough understanding of manufacturing best practices. As a key member of our production team, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold safety protocols to foster a productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities on the second shift, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Lead and manage assembly line and pre-production teams, providing guidance, training, and motivation to optimize performance.
• Monitor manufacturing processes, utilizing measuring instruments and technical drawings to ensure precision and compliance.
• Enforce safety standards in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements; conduct safety audits and promote safety protocol adherence.
• Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and manual handling techniques to facilitate efficient production workflows.
• Interpret manufacturing documents, including technical drawings and process instructions, to ensure accurate assembly and mechanical operations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement using lean manufacturing principles; implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure proper use of measuring instruments and mechanical knowledge during assembly and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate production documentation, including logs, reports, and quality records.
• Collaborate with management to plan staffing needs, coordinate training sessions, and support continuous skill development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in factory or manufacturing facility environments with a strong understanding of production processes.
• Prior supervisory experience managing production or assembly teams on second shifts.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Solid mechanical knowledge with experience interpreting technical drawings and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement strategies.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling safety standards.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records.
• Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
• Excellent communication skills for effective team leadership and collaboration across departments.
