• Completion of a BS in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering degree
• At least 3 years of directly related experience
• Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data (meetings, email, presentations, and customer deliverables)
• Ability to develop networks and maintain good interpersonal relationships
• Work collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong advanced problem identification and resolution skills
• Displays informal leadership characteristics

You may have also acquired the following skills:

• Mechanical and construction experience (including piping, electrical knowledge, equipment layout and testing and commissioning of new processes and equipment). Performs non-standard engineering, varied engineering, and new-to-you assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems and resolution of quality events.
• Machine design and manufacturing methods experience (Process equipment design, HVAC system design, Machining, Sheetmetal, Welding, Forming etc.)
• Works with minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions. Evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptations and modifications for tasks not previously performed.
• Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data (meetings, email, presentations, customer deliverables) and is able to adapt with flexibility.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD

As a Mechanical Project/Plant Engineer in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the DOG Business Line in the Fuel Business Unit. You’ll join a team of diverse engineers to develop and demonstrate innovative solutions and value-added technologies focusing on supplying fuel, fuel components, and fabrication processes and facilities for next generation nuclear power plants. These solutions will ultimately be deployed into a new, state of the art, advanced reactor fuel fabrication facility designed and constructed at the Richland site. This position requires occasional travel. Together we will enable clean, safe, and economical low-carbon energy to meet the global ambition for a better tomorrow.

Framatome’s Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. This position is safety-sensitive and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening is required. Any employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $92,000 - $124,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
