Job description: Purpose of the role: The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out planned maintenance requirements as per OEM Standards and work order completion. Carry out preventive maintenance on all electrical components of overhead cranes such as VSD’s, PLC’s, Instrumentation, cabling etc. Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication. Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner. Comply with safe working standard, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times. Other duties as instructed by the Supervisor. Qualifications & Experience: Full grade twelve (12) certificate Craft Certificate/ Diploma in Automotive Engineering with a Specialization in Auto-Electricity. Valid Driver’s license. Knowledge in Basic First Aid and Basic Health and Safety. Excellent team building, organization and communication skills. At least 5 years’ working experience in heavy equipment operations preferably in the mining environment. Proven experience in maintenance of mining industry diesel propelled ancillary mobile equipment and/or drills including dozers, excavators, wheel dozers, service trucks, and wheel loaders. Experience in maintenance of diesel propelled drills such as Sandvik. Experience in some or all of the following machines: Volvo AF40 series; Komatsu D375, D475, HD1500,HD758, WA300, WA600, WD500 and WD900 series; Liebherr 9100 and 9250 series. A minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a qualified industrial electrician. Job Specific Competencies Troubleshooting on complex control circuit circuits. Understanding Proof Load Testing & load test preparations. Standby work required. Overtime when necessary. Exposure to dust, heat and noise. PC Literacy. An understanding of the cultural and political environment. An understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Valid Silicosis certificate.
