Design Engineer
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all phases of product design including part and assembly drawings, material specifications, bill of materials
- Deliver complete and accurate detailed design drawings as required for fabrication, assembly and installation that meet project requirements
- Prepare layouts, sketches and detailed drawings as required.
- Responsible for defining and solving manufacturing/design issues and implementing production growth and/or projects that optimize existing production lines.
- Coordinate as required with internal groups including purchasing, quality control, sales, production, accounting personnel, metal finishing and assembly so projects are started and completed within the set timetable.
- Determine suitable component selection as new or replacement item in existing designs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of production processes including fabrication, welding, machining, and similar operations
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical controls
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office
- Experience in a food related industry a plus.
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 5 Years experience designing industrial machinery.
