FPC is partnering with a leading designer and manufacturer of mobility-enabled vehicles. We’re seeking Engineers (Design & Sr Design) to take ownership of the full product development cycle—from concept and design through validation and launch. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative vehicle conversions that enhance accessibility and independence for end users.
Salary: $90K - $140K Bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer, design, and develop new vehicle conversions using CAD (Inventor).
- Design mechanisms, suspensions, structural components, and closures (doors and liftgates).
- Plan and execute design, procurement, assembly, and validation activities aligned with project timelines and APQP standards.
- Ensure vehicle designs meet quality, performance, and cost targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to ensure designs meet all functional and business requirements.
- Recommend cost-effective design alternatives and standardization opportunities.
- Build and test prototype vehicles; continuously refine designs and processes.
- Participate in design reviews and peer evaluations to ensure robust engineering practices.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
- 5 years of experience in automotive or vehicle design preferred.
- Strong background in mechanism and structural design, including sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly.
- Understanding of vehicle systems such as fuel, exhaust, cooling, and braking.
- Proficiency in Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault, and MS Office; Epicor ERP experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of engineering tools such as FEA, DFA/M, GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up, and FMEA.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Prototype fabrication or welding experience preferred.
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder
