Senior Hardware Engineer - Analog & Digital Circuit Design
Looking for a senior-level, hands-on Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to lead new circuit designs, from prototypes through to full-scale production hardware.
The company is a Multi $Billion annual sales in Industrial, Medical, and Consumer Electronics space and has been in business for over 30 years. They are known for stability, high technology, low turnover, and a consistent focus on innovation. Presently 450 employees at this site which includes both Design Engineering and manufacturing functions.
Core Job Functions
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of 5 Engineers.
- Design & Architecture: Develop and manage circuit design/layout, schematics, component selection, and PCB layout for motherboards using embedded controllers.
- Technical Scope: Support power, USB, analog & digital devices, and communication protocols for next-gen equipment.
- Full Lifecycle: Guide hardware from the prototype phase through production launch.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers to debug hardware and ensure product specifications are met.
- Design Reviews: Conduct and lead reviews on Hardware Architecture, Design, Planning, and Validation.
Professional Requirements
- Experience: 5 to 20 years of experience in electrical/electronics hardware development.
- Education: BSEE or MSEE degree required.
- PCB Design: Expertise in PC board layout and routing, with a preference for mobile devices (including Power Management, Battery, Bluetooth, USB, and digital/analog circuits).
- Validation: Strong experience in Testing, Validation, and Debugging of hardware.
- Firmware Literacy: Ability to collaborate with software engineers on microcontroller firmware (RTOS and Embedded C).
- Technical Skills: Hands-on engineering ability with a focus on board bring-up and troubleshooting.
- Regulatory Standards: Understanding of EMC (Interference) and standards such as UL, CE, and FCC.
- Extras: Knowledge of FPGAs is a plus. Experience managing other engineers is preferred but not required.
