Job Responsibilities: We're seeking an experienced and strategic Plant Manager to lead a high-performing manufacturing operation. As Plant Manager, you'll have full responsibility for site performance, leading the plant's leadership team while driving safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. You'll play a critical role in shaping the site's long-term strategy and fostering a culture where people, performance, and innovation succeed together.
- Provide hands-on leadership for all daily plant operations, ensuring production, quality, service, and safety goals are consistently achieved.
- Champion a world-class safety culture by leading initiatives, reinforcing safe behaviors, and continuously improving safety programs.
- Develop and execute the site's long-term operational strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Drive operational excellence by improving productivity, efficiency, quality, and overall plant performance.
- Manage plant operating expenses and capital investments while meeting production objectives and budget expectations.
- Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate the Site Leadership Team, building a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Foster a positive, engaged workplace focused on teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee development.
- Partner with Corporate Human Resources on recruiting, employee retention, succession planning, employee relations, and policy administration.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget while monitoring financial performance against plan.
- Analyze operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities, solve production challenges, and establish measurable performance goals.
- Monitor and report key business metrics including production, sales, inventory, shipping performance, and customer service.
- Ensure Management of Change (MOC) processes are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Clearly communicate organizational priorities, expectations, and performance objectives throughout the plant.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical degree required.
- 10 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment including chemical plant synthesis, crystallization, and Mechanical Vapor Recompression process experience a major plus.
- At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated success leading Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, reliability, and asset management principles.
- Experience managing material handling systems, particularly within corrosive manufacturing environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets and capital expenditures.
- Packaging manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
- Food manufacturing or food safety knowledge (HACCP, SQF, FSMA) is a significant advantage.
Pay: $165,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
