What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Verifier position at FPA Women's Health?
FPA Women’s Health, California's largest family planning provider, is looking for a reliable and hard-working Insurance Verifier to work full-time in our administration office in San Bernardino.
The Insurance Verifier is responsible for confirming patient insurance eligibility for services in our clinics. They are to provide the utmost attention to detail and ensure that they are providing accurate information to the insurance companies and our clinics.
Job Description:
· Verifies insurance eligibility, and benefits for emergent and urgent services.
· Effectively gathers all required information from patient’s insurance and service requested through NextGen.
· Demonstrates understanding of NextGen system.
· Accurately collects insurance responses and contacts clinic with result of services.
· Maintains strict confidentiality with information abiding by all HIPAA standards.
· Properly analyze various payer eligibility responses to find the information needed to complete verifications.
· Demonstrates excellent communication skills over the phone and in writing.
· Able to manage tasks effectively in order to verify greatest number of services per day.
Educational Requirements:
· High School Diploma required.
Experience and Skills:
· Knowledge of standard insurance companies and verification requirements.
· Previous Medical Terminology or Medical Billing/Insurance background preferred.
· Demonstrate mature judgment, initiative and critical thinking.
· Complete tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
· Ability to read and implement written instructions.
· NextGen experience preferred.
