Summary:
The Government & Major Accounts Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for driving revenue, retention, and customer satisfaction within FP Mailing Solutions’ government, association, cooperative purchasing, and named major account programs. This role works from the Addison office to prospect, qualify, present, quote, and close FP postage meter rentals/leases, mailing and shipping solutions, software, supplies, and related offerings. The position also supports the dealer channel and internal teams through government purchasing processes, RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, purchase orders, contract documentation, order accuracy, implementation coordination, and post-sale follow-up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop and manage an assigned pipeline of government, association, cooperative purchasing, and named major account prospects using company-provided databases, contract lists, expiring agreements, inbound inquiries, dealer referrals, and bid/RFP notifications.
· Maintain disciplined outbound sales activity, including management-defined daily call/email expectations, systematic follow-up, and timely response to inbound inquiries.
· Qualify customer needs by understanding mailing volumes, postage and funding requirements, equipment/software needs, service expectations, procurement path, budget timing, decision process, and installation requirements.
· Present FP’s value proposition, including postage meters, mailing and shipping solutions, software, supplies, service, and dealer-channel programs, in a clear and professional manner.
· Prepare quotes, proposals, contracts, order forms, and supporting documentation; secure complete and accurate customer information, product selections, pricing, terms, signatures, and purchase orders before submitting for processing.
· Coordinate RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses for government and association opportunities, including deadline management, required attachments, standard response language, internal approvals, and non-standard commercial or legal terms.
· Maintain and improve a proposal-response library for commonly requested information, including company profile, product specifications, implementation approach, service model, references, insurance/certification information, security information, and USPS-related requirements where applicable.
· Work with FP sales management, dealer representatives, finance, customer support, order processing, operations, and service teams to move opportunities from quote through installation and customer acceptance.
· Ability to work collaboratively with team members to support, process and maintain documentation for Major accounts and GSA.
· Respond to dealer and customer questions related to orders, billing, leases, cancellations, postage, pick-up, supplies, service issues, and related administrative matters, escalating when appropriate.
· Document all calls, emails, customer contacts, call results, next steps, pipeline stages, contract status, and follow-up plans in FP’s CRM/ERP or other designated systems.
· Monitor assigned accounts for renewals, cancellations, meter placements, contract expirations, account risk, and expansion opportunities.
· Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on sales activity, pipeline, placements, cancellations, contract renewals, RFP/RFQ status, and account performance.
· Support Quarterly Business Reviews and account-planning efforts by preparing documentation, results, trends, risks, and recommended actions for management review.
· Identify and communicate process improvements, customer risks, growth opportunities, and significant account issues to management in a timely manner.
· Meet or exceed assigned revenue, placement, activity, accuracy, retention, and customer experience targets.
Key Performance Measures & Working Conditions
· Monthly and quarterly revenue, placement, contract, and retention targets.
· Pipeline creation, follow-up discipline, conversion rates, and close rates.
· RFP/RFI/RFQ response timeliness, completeness, and win rate.
· CRM/ERP data accuracy and documentation quality.
· Contract/order rework rate and preventable processing errors.
· Dealer and customer responsiveness; resolution of open issues within expected timeframes.
· Office-based role performed primarily at a workstation using a telephone, computer, and business systems.
· Occasional travel may be required for training, dealer support, customer meetings, or industry events.
· Must be able to communicate by phone, video meeting, email, and in person; must be able to review and prepare detailed documents and reports.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
· Two or more years of inside sales, account management, B2B sales, customer portfolio management, or related experience; experience with government procurement, major accounts, office technology, mailing/shipping, SaaS, equipment leasing, or dealer-channel sales is preferred.
· Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
· Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline, make outbound calls, follow up consistently, handle objections, and close business.
· Familiarity with government, association, cooperative purchasing, GSA/state/local contract processes, purchase orders, RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, or public-sector procurement is strongly preferred.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional emails, proposals, customer-facing documents, and internal reports.
· High attention to detail and accuracy in contracts, customer data, order documentation, pricing, and follow-up notes.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder requests in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn and operate within FP’s CRM, ERP, dealer, and reporting systems.
· Tenacity, organization, customer focus, ownership mentality, and sound judgment when escalating issues or requesting approvals.
Salary - Base plus Commissions
