Description

FII USA, Inc. is seeking a Learning Systems Specialist to administer and maintain the learning management system (LMS) and ensure training assignments, completion records, certifications, and reporting are accurate and up to date. Once a part of the team, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks within the Training and Development Department in a manufacturing environment and have the opportunity to display critical thinking skills to expand your career in Smart Manufacturing.

The Learning Systems Specialist will manage learning system configurations, course assignments, training records, reporting, and user support while collaborating with HR, IT, and department leaders to maintain compliance, data integrity, and effective training processes.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the learning management system (LMS), including course catalogs, templates, system settings, user permissions, notifications, and administrative standards.
  • Review training deployment packages for required approvals, source-document references, course information, intended audiences, assessment requirements, and completion criteria before publication.
  • Build and maintain online courses, curricula, certifications, assessments, training events, evaluations, prerequisites, and on-the-job learning activities within the LMS.
  • Configure passing scores, test attempts, question randomization, feedback, remediation requirements, due dates, expiration dates, recurring training, and completion rules.
  • Maintain approved assessment content, question banks, and answer keys, coordinating reviews when changes affect technical content or assessment requirements.
  • Configure training assignments and automated assignment rules based on approved job roles, departments, locations, products, processes, workstations, shifts, and certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR and IT to maintain accurate employee information, organizational structures, supervisor assignments, job data, employment status, and system access.
  • Support approved system integrations, single sign-on (SSO), user provisioning, data imports, and bulk-update processes.
  • Perform quality assurance testing on courses and system configurations, including links, media playback, browser compatibility, assessment logic, notifications, completion tracking, learner transcripts, and reports.
  • Coordinate user-acceptance testing, troubleshoot configuration issues, and publish training only after all required approvals have been obtained.
  • Maintain alignment between active training courses and applicable controlled-document revisions, updating, replacing, retiring, or reassigning training when requirements change.
  • Maintain accurate training records, learner transcripts, attendance, trainer qualifications, certifications, practical-evaluation results, approved exceptions, and authorized record corrections.
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, overdue-training reports, qualification matrices, assessment metrics, and recertification forecasts for authorized stakeholders.
  • Support internal, customer, and certification audits by providing accurate, complete, and traceable training and qualification records.
  • Troubleshoot LMS issues involving user access, enrollment, assignments, assessments, media, completion records, notifications, transcripts, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain LMS administration procedures, naming conventions, catalog structures, data definitions, build checklists, test scripts, access reviews, change logs, and governance documentation.
  • Train authorized administrators, training coordinators, managers, and report users on system functionality and training recordkeeping requirements.
  • Monitor system updates, license utilization, data quality, integration performance, support trends, and administrative workload to identify opportunities for improvement and reduce manual processes.
  • Provide occasional off-shift or after-hours support for system launches, configuration changes, urgent assignments, and time-sensitive issues as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Learning Technology, Human Resources Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Training and Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in learning management system administration, human resources information systems (HRIS), learning operations, training records management, or related business-system support required. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting training programs in manufacturing, quality, safety, technical operations, or other compliance-driven environments preferred.
  • LMS administrator training, experience, or certification strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience administering an enterprise learning management system preferred.
  • Strong understanding of course configuration, curricula, certifications, training assignments, assessments, learner transcripts, version control, security permissions, completion requirements, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with e-learning standards such as SCORM, AICC, or xAPI and common multimedia file formats preferred.
  • Strong data management, quality control, troubleshooting, documentation, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools required. Experience with data imports, HRIS feeds, SSO, system integrations, or secure file transfers preferred.
  • Ability to methodically test system configurations, identify issues, and verify expected results before implementation.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, access controls, record retention, audit trails, and controlled administrative practices preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, written communication, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple system requests, training launches, deadlines, and urgent compliance assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to occasionally move between offices and production areas and remain standing while providing onsite training or user support.
