Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with category management principles to identify optimal suppliers and procurement options.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including purchasing, contract negotiation, supplier management, and procurement management systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and ERP platforms.
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve supply chain issues, improve procurement processes, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms while ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and internal policies.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, quality management, and production planning teams to ensure materials availability aligns with production schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance through regular evaluations, supply chain metrics, and quality assessments to maintain high standards of supply chain management.
- Lead sourcing initiatives for new materials or services by conducting market research, cost analysis, and risk assessments to optimize pricing and supply reliability.
Skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and other supply chain management software.
- Strong contract negotiation skills with a thorough understanding of contracts, procurement laws, and regulations including FAR.
- Expertise in procurement management processes including purchasing, sourcing, materials management, and logistics coordination.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for supply disruptions or quality issues within manufacturing or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of category management techniques to effectively manage different procurement categories.
- Familiarity with production planning principles and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to align procurement activities with manufacturing needs.
- Excellent supplier management skills to foster strong relationships and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
