About Job
The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is used to manage and control manufacturing operations at our Foxconn EV Systems facility, in Northeast Ohio. This system includes application software and IT hardware. The MES Systems Analyst will work under the direction of the MES Manager at the Foxconn EV manufacturing facility and will work closely with the other IT resources, including other technicians as well as engineers. The person will be responsible for day-to-day MES operations, issue fixes, troubleshooting both software and hardware, as well as supporting reporting services and other applications needed to operate the facility in Lordstown, Ohio.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain MES hardware and software system to maximize production uptime. This includes monitoring system health, gathering system statistics, ensuring system backups are performed, maintaining data integrity, responding to requests, etc.
- Utilize the site management of change process to document changes and risk mitigation plans while leading and assisting in incremental improvements to site systems. Document technology and troubleshooting via procedures and job aides.
- Work with Manufacturing team to identify and implement improvements to the MES applications.
- Perform design, implementation, and upgrades of systems to meet the business and user needs.
- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases
- Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts as needed
- Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed
- Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance
- Participate in on-call rotation to respond to daily production issues related to MES. Troubleshoot issues using log files, events, etc.
Education and Ideal Experience
- Associates or bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in the IT field
- (Military training and experience in IT, IS, Computer science is acceptable)
- Prior MES experience required (Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus)
- Working knowledge of a wide variety of programming languages, databases, and web servers is required. (C#, ASP.NET, .Net core, HTML, Java, Java script / Oracle, SQL Server / IIS, Apache)
- Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems
- Experience and proficient level of knowledge with Windows Operating System and Server Operations
- Knowledge of manufacturing PLCs and HMI systems is a plus

- Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills

- On/off shift support will be needed for project startup support.
- Willing and able to participate in the on-call schedule/rotation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, and have strong reading comprehension and listening skills.
- Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
- Have a desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations.
- Demonstrate process skills – ability to adapt to an ever-changing manufacturing environment, and understanding of process operations
- A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of manufacturing PLCs and HMI systems is a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This position is basically 100% onsite role for production support and will work primarily in an office environment but should be able to walk down to the shop floor in the factory when required.
- Wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting the shop floor is required.
