Works under the general direction of the School Business Administrator. The employee uses independent judgment in job assignments and reviews results with the supervisor. Specific problems are referred to the supervisor when clarification or interpretation of policy or procedures is required. Regularly performs duties independently and exercises judgement in implementing, maintaining and supporting the office of the School Business Administrator. The employee does not supervise staff but is responsible for delivery of assigned training to municipal staff where needed and may supervise seasonal or intern or other staff if directed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Accounting, tracking and reporting for the district in compliance with all state, federal, district and GAAP regulations.
•Provide financial and computer-based information and data analysis.
•Assists School Business Administrator in preparing correcting entries in Munis Financial Accounting Software system including journal adjustments, budget transfers and amendments as well as setting up new accounts as needed.
•Performs forecasting of revenue and expenditures, analyzes department spending and implements cost control measures to align department spending with authorized appropriation limits.
•Develop efficiencies, coordinate and process the registration, fees, and scheduling for Preschool Tuition, Rental of Facilities and Extended Day.
•Provide oversight on all Revolving Fund accounts, Out of District Tuition Monthly report as well as Medicaid and Circuit Breaker accounting, tracking and reporting.
•Monitors Student Activities accounts and assists School Business Administrator with the annual training and audit.
•Assist School Business Administrator to develop and implement the annual operating budget.
•Assist with preparation of DESE End-of-Year Financial Report and other required state and/or federal reports.
•Assist with preparation of annual audits and implementation of any corrective actions identified in audits.
•Assist in the development and maintenance of Finance Department Website pages.
•Assist in training of Staff on the Munis Financial Accounting Software system.
•Attend training, conferences, and other educational opportunities in a wide range of areas as directed by the School Business Administrator or designee.
•Back up for Accounts Payables and Grant Management as needed.
•Perform special projects and other related duties as required and directed by the School Business Administrator.
