Job Description Summary
Lead and partner with instructional faculty across disciplines, student services personnel and resources, college leaders and community resources to develop and implement retention strategies. Collaborate and manage the development and delivery of services directed at transitioning and retaining students at risk for successfully completing their program. Assess and identify barriers that impede academic success and coordinate any other institutional resources necessary for students' academic success and degree completion. Partner with Counselors, Admissions Specialists, Diversity and Inclusion Services, Educational Support Services, and academic departments to ensure that district-wide retention services are provided to students. Identify external resources for referral to serve students and enhance opportunities for success.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOBS FUNCTIONS

Collaborate and coordinate with counselors and program faculty to develop and implement programs and strategies to increase the retention of program students.
- Ensure implementation and follow-up with students. Lead and partner with appropriate college departments to develop, implement, and manage retention services with appropriate college departments.

Analyze data and identify students at risk for persisting and completing their program.

Contact and communicate with students who are at risk of not completing courses and/or programs.

Provide supportive services (i.e. case management); advise potential at-risk students with identifying obstacles and barriers that may interfere with their educational goals.
- Help students explore options for overcoming these anticipated obstacles and/or barriers, including providing appropriate referrals to college and community resources, assisting with resolving questions and concerns on academic policies, procedures, and standards, and educating students on how to use the appropriate College resources to accomplish academic goals.

Coordinate and assist with activities at the Oshkosh Campus and in the regional centers in cooperation with Counseling & Advising Services and the Regional Center Operation Managers.

Provide program planning information to students regarding programs of study, program and course content, course selection, prerequisites, recommended credit load, advanced standing process, registration, and graduation.

Plan and facilitate new student registrations for students in collaboration with Enrollment Services, Counseling & Advising Services, career and program staff, and faculty.

Participate in team activities related to operational planning, scheduling, and document daily activities in PeopleSoft and/or appropriate tools for reporting/tracking purposes.

Assess and quantify the outcome of programs and strategies developed for student retention and success, evaluate personnel and college resources involved in the process, and provide recommendations and feedback.

Participate as requested in meetings and planning relative to short-term and long-term planning on student retention and success.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
-
Provide assessment (ACCUPLACER) interpretations and referrals for remediation and educational support services.

Develop and manage federal and/or state grant activities for at-risk students.
- Develop relationships with external agency representatives to support at-risk students in attaining community-based services such as additional mental health and psychiatric care, medical resources, financial assistance, and legal advocacy.
QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Psychology, Student Development, etc.) required, AND
-
A minimum of two years of recent, related experience which includes responsibility for working with students in providing advising and/or guidance in a college educational or transitional program, AND
-
Demonstrated experience working with and leading faculty and counselors in assisting students in developing personal plans (establish a career, educational, and/or employment objectives and steps/services needed to accomplish), OR
-
An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.

Demonstrated experience with developing and using collaborative relationships and identifying and engaging necessary resources to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals required.
- Demonstrated experience in working with a diverse student population required.
-
Knowledge and experience regarding the needs of students with multiple educational barriers are required.

Ability to assess outcomes, quantify results and prepare reports.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administration is strongly preferred.

Additional Information
Pay: $52.200.00 - $78,400.00 per year.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data. Note: Internal applicants' wages will be based upon the applicable compensation structure.
