Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to perform routine clinical tasks under supervision.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems or willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current registration as a Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment, particularly in pulmonary or sleep medicine, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers by preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Manage patient records, including updating charts and entering data into electronic health systems.
- Schedule patient appointments and handle front desk administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and medical equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide instructions and answer basic questions.
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and safety protocols.
