As a member of the Business Development and Marketing Department, the Senior Manager of Business Development Technology is a key leadership role within the Business Development & Marketing function. The Senior Manager of Business Development Technology is responsible for the oversight and strategic direction of the firm’s CRM/ERM platforms, marketing data analytics, and AI-driven tools that support client development and firmwide business intelligence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leadership & Team Management

- Leads and develops direct reports.
- Supports a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
- Partners with the Director of Business Development & Marketing Operations and the IS liaison to align MarTech strategy with broader departmental goals.
CRM/ERM Strategy & Execution
- Collaborates cross-functionally with attorneys, business development professionals, IS, and firm leadership, and drive the use of technology to deliver insights, improve engagement, and streamline marketing operations.
- Serves as the firm’s lead for CRM and ERM platform management, including system administration, data quality, and user engagement.
- Oversees enhancements and integrations with key systems (e.g., email marketing, business development targeting, digital marketing).
- Partners with functional groups within the BD & M department and the IS department to improve relationship management and client engagement tracking.
Data Analytics & Reporting

- Leads the development of dashboards and reports that deliver business intelligence and performance insights.
- Identifies opportunities for segmentation, predictive modeling, and client targeting using data-driven approaches.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure analytics initiatives are aligned with strategic priorities.
AI & Innovation
- Works with assigned leadership to embrace and leverage AI tools.
- Promotes responsible AI use, ensuring tools align with data privacy regulations and legal ethical standards.
- Stays current on emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance MarTech and Biz Dev capabilities through AI.
Systems & Vendor Oversight
- Manages relationships with key vendors and consultants for CRM/ERM, analytics, and AI platforms.
- Plays a leadership role with technology road-mapping, budgeting, system upgrades, and implementation projects.
- Maintains documentation, SOPs, and training resources to support system adoption and ongoing success.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing technology and data analytics, preferably within a professional services or law firm environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Deep understanding of CRM/ERM systems such as InterAction, Salesforce, Foundation, or DealCloud.
- Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
- Experience deploying or managing tech tools in a marketing or business development context.
- Familiarity with data privacy and governance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools and their integration with CRM systems (e.g., Vuture, HubSpot).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI, Google Analytics, AI/ML).
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
