Accounting Assistant
Location: Knoxville, TN 37934
Fox Den Country Club is a full-service, family-oriented country club. Our members are our first priority, and each member of our staff is committed to carrying on our rich tradition of providing quality, professional, and personal service. We are currently seeking an full-time accounting assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, detail-oriented, dependable, and trustworthy. Hours are Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm, though there is some flexibility in hours. This position answers directly to the Controller and works closely with all department heads.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily Sales Reconciliation and Posting
- Establish, maintain, & monitor membership accounts, ensuring accuracy of member charges
- Prepare and send member billing statements
- Process member payments and make bank deposits
- Assist with payroll processing and employee records as needed
- Reconciliation of credit cards and cash accounts
- Enter and maintain accurate accounting data
- Aids in the accuracy of retail inventory
- Answer accounting-related inquiries and provide administrative support
Required Skills & Competencies
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
· Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies independently.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
· Solid computer skills are a must.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
· Experience with accounting software is a plus.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma with previous accounting, bookkeeping or office experience is required.
- Associate's degree or higher in accounting or related field preferred
