Fox Construction LLC is seeking a Managing Director to lead the organization, drive operational performance, and ensure overall company profitability. This executive role oversees all construction operations, estimating, financial coordination, and team management. Serving as the bridge between ownership and the field, the Managing Director is responsible for ensuring that every project is executed efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with Fox Construction’s standards for quality, safety, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Oversee daily company operations, project execution, and staff performance.
- Lead and mentor Senior Project Managers, Assistant PMs, and administrative personnel.
- Develop and enforce internal systems, processes, and company SOPs.
- Conduct weekly operations and coordination meetings.
- Represent Fox Construction in meetings with clients, engineers, and vendors.
Financial & Risk Management
- Partner with the CFO to manage budgeting, job costing, and cash flow.
- Track and report company profitability and operational performance.
- Approve contracts, vendor agreements, and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, safety, and licensing requirements.
Project Oversight
- Supervise active projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and scopes.
- Support estimating and bid preparation with the project team.
- Manage project performance reporting and client updates.
Preconstruction & Estimating
- Oversee preconstruction, takeoffs, and subcontractor bidding.
- Develop proposal strategies and pricing with leadership input.
- Maintain bid logs and ensure timely, competitive submissions.
Business Leadership & Growth
- Collaborate directly with the Founder to align short- and long-term goals.
- Provide operational insight for company forecasting, staffing, and resource planning.
- Cultivate a strong team culture focused on accountability, communication, and results.
- Help drive company growth through process improvement and operational scalability.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, including at least 5 years in a leadership, director, or senior operations role.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and oversee company-level operations.
- Demonstrated success in business management, organizational leadership, and financial oversight.
- Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, and profitability tracking.
- Experience developing and implementing operational systems and performance standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of building and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors, and strategic partners.
- Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
