This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance day-to-day support with system administration responsibilities.
Position Overview
The IT Systems Administrator will serve as the first point of contact for IT support while also maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure. This role involves resolving help desk tickets, setting up and managing user accounts, ensuring system integrations run smoothly, and implementing security protocols across all applications and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for help desk support tickets, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues.
- Onboard new employees by setting up accounts, hardware, email, and required applications.
- Manage user permissions, security settings, and access across all company systems.
- Ensure computer programs and platforms are integrated and communicating effectively.
- Maintain IT security, including updates, backups, and monitoring of systems.
- Work with managers and employees to answer IT questions and provide technical training/support.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate hardware/software purchases as needed.
- Partner with outside IT vendors as necessary for escalations, upgrades, or specialized support.
- Document IT processes, configurations, and user guides.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years of IT support or system administration experience preferred.
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of Windows environments, Microsoft Office 365, and common business applications.
- Strong understanding of IT security practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
