Warehouse Associate Temporary Part-time

Fox Chapel Publishing is looking for a temporary part-time Returns Warehouse Associate to join our warehouse team located in Mount Joy, PA. This job has the potential to become a permanent part-time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Unpacking and inspecting returned merchandise
• Receive merchandise on the computer system
• Processing and distributing returned merchandise to appropriate warehouse status
• Reviewing merchandise to determine disposition
• Investigate and escalate if needed, all customer shipping/delivery problems and assist in resolving them
• Actively support team concepts and effectively communicate with team members
• Work independently and as part of the returns team to process all customer RMA paperwork and credits and record/post in Acumen timely and accurately.
• Open boxes and review returned product to ensure proper processes are followed in the returns process
• Determine "put-away bin" / disposition activity for all return items.
• Participate in the daily inventory "cycle counting" activity
• Cross train in all other aspects of the warehouse operations so you can fill in other areas as needed.
• Ability to multi-task and handle moderate to high volume work activity
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area
• Assist with seamless transition of revenue recognition to the accounting department
• Other tasks as required to meet team goals

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Cognitive Tasks:

· Ability to comprehend, retain, and follow oral and written instructions.

· Must be able to work in a team environment but perform tasks self-sufficiently.

· Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting and distribution.

· Strong attention to safety and knowledge of safety programs/policies.

· Must be able to work in a team environment.

Physical Demands:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, stoop, and reach with hands and arms (above shoulder height and below the waist), climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, talk, hear and smell.

· The employee must lift/move up to 35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. The employee must be able to walk for extended periods of time. Proper lifting techniques and adherence to safety guidelines is required.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and be able to distinguish full visual color spectrum.

· May be required to wear protective clothing in the performance of assigned tasks.

Work Environment:

The primary work environment is a warehouse and shipping areas. At certain times, temperatures may fluctuate. The noise level is generally moderate but can become loud at times.

Language and Communication Skills:

Can read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language. Regularly communicates with manager, co-workers, other departments, and delivery personnel.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic math skills. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Computer Skills:

Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel; others as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
