POSITION TITLE: IT 1 - Systems Support Specialist I
STATUS: 8-hours per day; 260-Days
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
An IT 1 - Systems Support Specialist provides internal support for employees and students. Candidates should have a mix of technical and customer service skills, and be passionate about helping people. Fox C-6 supports Chromebooks, PCs, Apple devices, printers, faxes, copiers, etc.
Basic Function/Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, install and configure desktop/laptop/printer/copier hardware and software.
- Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution.
- Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Provides maintenance, investigation, diagnostic testing and repair of infrastructure.
- Routine maintenance of software and hardware.
- Device-level testing support.
- Document, prioritize and track the progress of service requests.
- Troubleshoot problems over the phone and remotely assist staff as needed
- Lifting, moving devices such as printers, computers and servers up to 100lbs.
- Assist IT 2 staff members as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret data and information.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to perform and prioritize daily tasks with minimum supervision.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with a variety of clienteles with diverse backgrounds and needs.

- Ability to exercise sound judgment on sensitive issues.

- Ability to accomplish tasks that are often interrupted by persons with special and/or immediate needs.
- Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess knowledge of PC and Apple devices, printers, faxes, copiers, etc.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Missouri driver’s license.
- Experience managing data systems, networks, software and hardware.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work setting involves performance in an environment with various levels of staff to supervise and the accomplishment of tasks that are often interrupted by persons with special and/or immediate needs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see, hear, and utilize manual dexterity. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception. The employee must independently transport him/herself to various sites in the District as well as other sites out of the District for various types of meetings and events.
