Position Summary
Fowlerville Community Schools is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Archery Coach to lead and develop our NASP-certified archery program for students in grades 4–12. The successful candidate will promote safety, sportsmanship, skill development, and program growth consistent with NASP guidelines. This position requires a strong commitment to student engagement, effective communication, and maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee an archery program aligned with NASP standards and curriculum.
Provide instruction in foundational archery skills, proper form, and safe equipment handling.
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment during practices, competitions, and related activities.
Coordinate and supervise all practices, events, and tournaments for grades 4–12.
Manage and maintain archery equipment, ensuring it meets all NASP safety and performance requirements.
Communicate regularly with students, parents, administrators, and event organizers.
Support student development in confidence, discipline, and teamwork.
Ensure compliance with all district policies, NASP regulations, and competition rules.
Qualifications
NASP Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) certification required, or willingness to obtain prior to season start.
Experience working with school-aged students preferred.
Prior coaching experience or background in archery instruction strongly preferred.
Ability to manage equipment, maintain safety protocols, and oversee large groups of students.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must meet all district employment and background check requirements.
Work Schedule
Seasonal coaching position, typically including after-school practices, occasional weekends, and tournaments.
Hours may vary according to program needs and competition schedules.
Compensation
Stipend per district extracurricular salary schedule.
