Duties
- Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service at the front desk
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental office management software CurveDental
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing processes
- Manage patient intake, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately
- Process medical collections and perform billing tasks using EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Maintain organized filing of dental records, insurance forms, and other administrative documents
- Conduct insurance verification and assist patients with understanding their care plans and billing statements
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality
- Support clinic operations by coordinating medical scheduling, reviewing documentation, and managing front desk duties
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental office administration or medical administrative support with clinic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and health information management systems
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and filing
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes including Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures
- Experience with medical billing, coding (ICD coding), care plans, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage front desk operations smoothly in a busy clinic environment
- Computer literacy including typing speed (10 key typing) and familiarity with multi-line phone systems
