Accounts Payable Clerk 

Fowler Automotive has an outstanding opportunity for a task-oriented, motivated, customer service minded Accounts Payable Clerk in our Accounting Department.  The Accounts Payable Clerk compiles and maintains verified accounts payable records and reconciles statements and issues payment to vendors.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepares accounts payable checks.
• Assists in monthly closings.
• Posts all open items in accounts payable on a daily basis.
• Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
• Responsible for maintaining schedules.
• Files within appropriate file system all dealership forms, records, reports, correspondence, or other important material.
• Answers all vendor inquiries and requests copies from vendors.
• Analyzes vendor accounts, post all vendor invoices, and handles all vendor maintenance.
• Answers accounts payable phone calls and follows up on inquiries.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Clerical and/or Accounting: 1 year

Experience in the automotive industry is a plus but not required

Qualifications

Candidate must demonstrate above average clerical and computer skills with accurate data entry and attention to detail

Must communicate effectively in both written and oral format with customers and co-workers

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Compensation is based on experience and is highly competitive in the marketplace.
