ASR-9/8 Radar Systems Technician
This is a full-time on-site position (no remote or hybrid work) and will require heavy travel.
Education & Experience Requirement
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is highly desirable
- Nine (9) plus years of related work experience
Required Skills
- Proven ASR-9 OR ASR-8 experience
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and determine operational issues and recommend solutions
- Design, develop, and test modern solutions for existing systems and equipment
- Generate installation and test procedures for system modification and verification
- Perform all aspects of system verification including all phases of testing
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures in an operational environment
- Direct and coordinate with outside vendors for prototypes and production units
- Research new technologies for integration into ASR-9
- Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for ASR-9 modifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to work environments
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of ASR-9/ASR-8 radar principles, signal processing, and RF electronics
- Proficiency in radar system testing and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience with radar simulation tools (AutoCAD, 3D Printer, Altium)
- Familiarity with radar system components (transmitters, receivers, antennas, signal processors)
- Knowledge of radar system integration, installation, and field-testing procedures
Daily Job Duties
- Routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of radar systems and associated components
- System upgrades, modifications, and calibration activities
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation
- Conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses for electrical systems
- Conduct or participate in formal and informal reviews throughout development lifecycle
Work Environment
- Full-time position with a standard work schedule
- 75% of work will be on travel to ASR-9 Radar sites nationwide
- Cubicle environment when not traveling
Requirements
Required:
