Job Summary:
Our FOH team of Servers, Back Servers, Hosts, and Bartenders work together under our Managers to execute all facets of the Cafes excellent customer service: from greeting and seating customers, preparing their drinks, serving their food, clearing their tables, through to handling their payments.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Greets customers and enters their name into reservation system, quoting wait time and procedures. Seats customers, ensuring the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, menus, and other needs have been provided.
- Answers questions regarding the menu and makes appropriate suggestions; able to provide the full Russ & Daughters experience being knowledgeable about the Cafe and the history of our company.
- Takes food and beverage orders and enters them into point of sale, while making decisions about sequence and pacing. Fires drink and food orders with timing that ensures a comfortable (but brisk) dining experience for the guests, and does not overwhelm the kitchen or bar.
- Prepares drink orders or presents, opens, and serves bottles of wine.
- Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.
- Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to customers satisfaction; works with the kitchen leadership to resolve all issues of incorrect or improperly cooked food.
- Collects plates and clears the table/bar as customers finish their meals.
- Prepares customers checks and collects payments.
- Cleans table/bar and resets for next customers.
- Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware, glassware, and other items to ready for service.
- Performs any additional assigned related duties.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to multi-task; our FOH staff will share responsibilities across the host desk, bar, and dining room to ensure all parts of service coverage.
- Ability to operate reservation software, point of sales systems.
- Ability to prepare alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverage orders with precision and the ability to serve customers complying with the Cafes safe alcohol service policies.
- Basic understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety to maintain a spotless personal and general workspace (including all equipment) in compliance with DOH regulation as well as rigorous internal health and cleanliness standards.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment while maintaining a calm and cheerful demeanor towards coworkers and guests.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene, health and safety regulations.
- Ability to communicate with coworkers and kitchen leadership.
- Ability to arrive on time.
Education & Experience:
- Prior experience in a fast-paced full-service dining setting is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and working in our Cafe.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work weekend, holiday, and periodic extended hours as business needs require.
- Manual dexterity to cut, chop, and mix foods and perform other related tasks.
