Lead Designer (Temp)

Our client, an apparel licensing company, is seeking a Lead Designer to join their team on a contract basis in their New York office, full-time hours!

Responsibilities:

• Utilize Adobe Creative Suite for various design projects.
• Manage client communications to ensure design consistency.
• Conduct trend research and attend creative meetings.
• Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
• Ensure that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications from clients.
• Review design presentations and make edits for seasonal line sheets.
• Support the creative design process from concept to creation.
• Manage a team of 10 direct reports and provide guidance.
• Lead fittings and oversee fit comments.
• Communicate with the sales and production teams daily.

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of working in Design with relevant portfolio.
• Previous experience leading a design team.
• Technical fluency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel and PLM systems.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Capable of maintaining organization while handling multiple projects & priorities
• Strong time management & problem-solving skills
