Our client, an apparel licensing company, is seeking a Lead Designer to join their team on a contract basis in their New York office, full-time hours!
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite for various design projects.
- Manage client communications to ensure design consistency.
- Conduct trend research and attend creative meetings.
- Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
- Ensure that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications from clients.
- Review design presentations and make edits for seasonal line sheets.
- Support the creative design process from concept to creation.
- Manage a team of 10 direct reports and provide guidance.
- Lead fittings and oversee fit comments.
- Communicate with the sales and production teams daily.
Requirements:
- 4-5 years of working in Design with relevant portfolio.
- Previous experience leading a design team.
- Technical fluency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel and PLM systems.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Capable of maintaining organization while handling multiple projects & priorities
- Strong time management & problem-solving skills
