Our client, a top wholesale childrenswear apparel company is seeking an ambitious and creative Girls Denim Designer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Research trends, competitors, and customer feedbacks to develop design direction & strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create line plans and build collections
- Create design sketches, CADs, and line sheets to communicate concepts
- Develop tech packs to ensure design integrity from concept through production
- Design and refine artwork for embroidery, prints, appliqué, and other embellishments
- Partner closely with technical designers to develop, fit, and approve garment samples
- Liaise with factories & suppliers on sample, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely delivery
- Prepare and present seasonal collections to internal team and retail buyers
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or related field
- 5 years of design experience in the girls’ denim market
- Expertise and full knowledge and understanding of denim washes and trends
- Strong understanding of garment construction, sewing and printing techniques
- Proficient knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, PLM and Outlook
- Understanding of the production process and lead-times
- Able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize
