What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer, Bedding position at Fourth Floor?
Our client, a home textiles manufacturer, is seeking a Designer to lead the design and development of bedding (and/or bath) products from concept through finished product. This role partners closely with Merchandising, Product Development, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver on-trend, commercially viable products while meeting pricing, quality, and timeline requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop bedding products from concept through production for assigned projects or brands
- Research and apply home and fashion trends to create saleable, market-relevant designs
- Create artwork, color directions, specs, and development packages for vendor execution
- Coordinate product development timelines, target pricing, and ship dates with internal teams and vendors
- Prepare artwork and materials for brand approvals and customer presentations
- Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, handlooms, and prototypes in a timely manner
- Ensure accurate and complete product information within PLM systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Product Development, Sales, and external partners
- Support showroom, sales, and photography sample needs
- Travel to customers or licensors for presentations as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Product Development, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in home fashion or product design
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Location: Hybrid (minimum 3 days in-office: Tuesday – Thursday) in NYC
Salary: $90,000 - 110,000
