Position Overview
We're looking for a reliable, self-motivated team member to join our operation as a Jelly Kitchen Production & Café Support Assistant. This role focuses primarily on producing our house-made jams and jellies in a dedicated production kitchen, with additional support duties in our café during lunch hours (11am–2pm). You would be working 2 days in the Cafe and 2 days in the Production Kitchen every week.
Key Responsibilities
In the Jelly Kitchen:
- Produce small-batch jams, jellies, and preserves following established recipes
- Correctly label and log all items produced
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Track and communicate ingredient inventory and supply needs
- Maintain a clean and food-safe workspace, including washing large kettles, mopping floors, taking out trash, and end-of-day cleanup
- Follow food safety and sanitation practices at all times
In the Café:
- Assist kitchen staff during lunch service (11am–2pm) as needed
- Support meal prep, plating, dishwashing, or other BOH tasks during service
- Collaborate respectfully with the café team in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Prior professional cooking, baking, or kitchen prep experience strongly preferred
- ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs (sugar bags, apple cider vinegar, etc.)
- Able to work efficiently, manage time independently, and communicate clearly with the team
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
